How to Connect

Follow these steps to connect to the Blackthorn server and start your adventure:

Download the OpenDAoC client from here.
Download the BTUI Launcher using the latest version from this link
Install OpenDAoC. To prevent mix-ups with other OpenDAoC servers, rename the destination folder if prompted during installation.
Extract the contents Blackthorn Launcher_0.0.7_x64-setup.nsis into your OpenDAoC folder. Replace files if prompted.
To open the launcher, navigate to the OpenDAoC folder, right-click on BlackthornLauncher.exe, and select 'Run as Administrator'.
Sign in using your existing account or provide a username and password to set up a new account. If you're attempting to register and receive a "password incorrect" error, it indicates the username is already taken. For existing account holders experiencing incorrect password issues, please contact a server admin through Discord for assistance.
Select 'Log in' in the launcher to upgrade to the newest version of the game. If you are already using the latest version, this action will directly launch the game.

Setting up a Windows Defender exception for game1127.dll

To speed up the load time of your DAoC game, you might need to set game1127.dll as a process exception. Follow these steps to add an exception for game1127.dll in Windows Defender:

Open Windows Security by clicking the Windows icon in the bottom left corner and typing "Windows Security".
In the Windows Security window, click on "Virus & threat protection".
Scroll down and click on "Manage settings" under Virus & threat protection settings.
Scroll down to "Exclusions" and click on "Add or remove exclusions".
Select process".
type in game1127.dll.
Confirm the addition of the file to the exclusions list.

You should now see game1127.dll in the list of excluded files.
